The Firm's founding and early days

The Firm's Founding Partners have a collective experience in excess of 50 years. The Firm's initial practice stemmed from the strong client relationship it had built with Small and Medium Companies in Bangalore and Chennai, ever since the Founder set up his practice in 2018 in Chennai.

The Firm has a practice centered around the StartUp ecosystem and collaborates actively with Funds and Organisations involved in supporting Startups all over India.

It regularly advises on complex commercial contracts, supplier and vendor agreements, technology procurement, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance, employment matters, and dispute resolution.

The Firm has been working with large organisations and supporting their procurement function. It also acts as external counsel to businesses across multiple sectors, supporting strategic transactions, cross-border commercial arrangements, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day corporate operations.

Christopher Manoharan

Christopher Manoharan founded Cornerstone Law and leads its Mergers & Acquisitions and General Corporate practice. A graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (B.A. LL.B (Hons.), 1994), he also holds an LL.M. in Labour, Industrial & Administrative Law from Annamalai University.

He was instrumental in setting up the USD 100 million India Advantage Fund at ICICI Venture, has advised a German conglomerate on its Make in India strategy, and has been appointed as Arbitrator in commercial disputes, a role in which he continues to serve.
